Patriots Pen

Author's Note: A piece about America's journey of Freedom

It was a horrifying scene as America watched two planes fly directly into the World Trade Center. 9/11, the day no one wanted to happen. The hardship that came with this day brought our country together united as one and true United States of America. I am very proud of my country and all we have done to achieve our freedom.
Our country took a tough route, determined to get our Freedom and Independence. When we fought against Britain we took many casualties. But in the end, we got our freedom. This day is known as Independence Day, or the Fourth of July. This day proves we have fought for and accomplished much with our freedom. The soldiers who fought were fellow friends and family, which is why we should remember them and what they have done.
Veterans Day is the celebration of our soldiers who have and currently are serving our country. Just as important as Independence Day, Veterans Day give thanks to troops and families who have serving troops. So many people have been put into our military and so many have fought in a war. Schools also made sure that every student would show that they are proud of their country.
Every student in every school says the Pledge of Allegiance.  It shows that we too are proud of our country. We study all of the wars that have taken place that our country has been involved in. We study 9/11, and have assemblies on Veteran’s Day and have some troops come in to talk to us about the military, government, and our country’s freedom. A celebration for Independence Day would take place, but that is during our summer break, when we don’t have school.
With all the wars America has been through, it has been tough to achieve freedom but I am still proud of the freedom we have and my country. Hopefully, others will think the same way.

Super Bowl

My essay stating why I think the Super Bowl is the greatest sporting event.

Fans were jumping and cheering as the event of the year was doing what it always does; attracting fans. The fans try to get tickets as soon as possible and hoping that their team will win. The Super Bowl is the biggest sporting event of the year.
Every year people from all around the US come to see the Super Bowl. Usually fans from the teams that are playing in it come but others come as well. But many people just stay at home and watch it on TV. However, the exciting event can be expensive. The range for all tickets cost 700 – 5,000 dollars. Most people say it’s worth the price even if their team doesn’t win or isn’t even in it. While we think this is a fun event for ourselves it is a great family activity as well.
Most people will be watching this with their families at home. This event usually brings together families and makes the Super Bowl all the more enjoyable. Some people don’t get to spend a lot of “quality family time” together because of school, work, or kids would rather be with friends or watching TV. So this also may be the special occasion where you do get to spend time with your family. Also the Super Bowl is probably the best event that will make friends fight against friends.
Every time the Super Bowl comes around friends will brag on how their team is the best. They will make bets, mess with each other, and brag about how they are always right. Most people just do it for fun and make a small bet between a friend or even a family member. It’s something that will happen every year. Those who do it seriously, well, they always enjoy it too, even if they did lose a big bet.
The greatest sporting event is the Super Bowl. No matter if your team wins it or not you can always make a good experience out of it.
