A book I have recently read is The Killer, by Robert
Muchamore. The book is about a boy named James who is trained to befriend the
child of a mass murderer to draw out information to press charges in court.
This is no easy task. James must prove his worth by shoplifting, burning cop
cars, and robbing other homes to impress his target.
The
main conflict in this story is person vs. self. James must make difficult
choices throughout the story. He makes many choices that can cause arrest or
even death. The resolution is that James makes these risky choices to befriend
his target.
